Better Jobs = Better Care

Quality child care is a critical support for working families with young children, and as we have seen over the course of 2.5 years, child care providers are a key part of the economy. Supporting child care workers and ensuring quality child care jobs are key parts of improving child care quality, and yet this work is incredibly challenging, with the needs of children and child care workers often unfairly pitted against each other. This session will provide an overview of the main challenges to and root causes of job quality in the child care sector; provide insights into what job quality in the sector could look like; and lift up potential strategies for workforce funders to lean into.
